Bio
Kassy Lee is a poet from San Diego, California. A Cave Canem fellow, she graduated with an MFA in Creative Writing from the Helen Zell Writers’ Program at the University of Michigan and a BA in Comparative Literature & Society from Columbia. She has received fellowships from the University of Michigan Helen Zell Writers’ Program, Helene Wurlitzer Foundation of New Mexico, Vermont Studio Center, Ragdale, Vashon Artist Residency, and Cave Canem. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Callaloo, The Massachusetts Review, African American Review, Salamander, Kweli Journal, Columbia Review, Apogee, and Narrative. Her literary criticism has appeared in Michigan Quarterly Review and the Los Angeles Review of Books. She is at work on her debut poetry collection and teaches at the University of California, San Diego.
